Vegan burger chain Next Level Burger (NLB) will make its California debut on December 6 inside the Concord location of a Whole Foods 365 Market. In August, NLB opened its first shop outside of Oregon in the Roosevelt Square location of Whole Foods in Seattle, WA. The menu at the new NLB will mimic that of other locations—with decadent burgers made with either a housemade veggie patty or the Beyond Burger, vegan chili cheese fries, salads, a kids menu, and dairy-free milkshakes. The eatery is also planning to add a brunch menu in coming months. Husband-and-wife team Matthew and Cierra de Gruyter founded the eatery in 2014 to bring wholesome, plant-based options to their Bend, OR community. “We couldn’t be more excited to bring America’s first 100-percent, plant-based burger joint to the Bay Area,” Matthew de Gruyter told VegNews. “We’ve been honored by requests to bring Next Level Burger to Northern California ever since we opened up our very first location, and now we’re thrilled to debut our flagship location with our friends at the new Whole Foods Market 365 in Concord.”
