Animal Activists Honored at Vegan Banquet in LA

It was an evening of gourmet vegan food, entertainment, a live art auction, and an awards ceremony for nearly 1,000 animal activists this past weekend in Los Angeles. Held at the Westin Hotel LAX and hosted by Farm Animal Rights Movement (FARM), the evening’s honorees included NFL player David Carter (Compassionate Athlete Award) and veterinarian Armaiti May (Henry Spira Grassroots Activist Award). Ending the evening was this year’s inductee into the Animal Rights Hall of Fame, Jon Camp, who has distributed more than 1 million booklets for the organization, Vegan Outreach. VegNews’ Joseph Connelly and Colleen Holland were inducted into the Animal Rights Hall of Fame in 2012 for their work in the vegan movement.
