Aussie Cricket Star Throws Big Fat Vegan Wedding

Last weekend, Australian cricket player Peter Siddle married animal advocate and wellness coach Anna Weatherlake during what guests called a “big fat vegan wedding.” Weatherlake wore a dress made from animal-free materials and designed by local wedding company One Day Bridal. Guests were treated to a menu that included red lentil-filled Turkish dumplings, baked eggplant, Lebanese pearl couscous with pumpkin, saffron, and white figs along with a selection of vegan wines and cocktails. The wedding featured a vegan cake in addition to a dessert bar stocked with parfait cups. The couple was escorted down the aisle by their four rescued companion dogs, Ralphie, Willow, Oscar, and ring-bearer Axel.
