Austin, TX-based vegan bakery Skull & Cakebones is now offering at-home baking kits that are available for delivery nationwide. The baking kits include all of the essential ingredients along with instructions on how to combine and bake them. Kits currently available are vanilla and chocolate cakes with frosting, scones, and French toast—with biscuits, pie crusts, and charcoal scones with lemon icing available in the coming weeks.
“Our kits are designed to be stress-free and user-friendly, so the at-home baker can feel successful in their endeavors, whether this is their first time baking vegan or not,” Sascha Biesi, Skull & Cakebones owner and executive chef, told VegNews. “Whether or not that person moves on to following recipes, they will have a good experience—and hopefully learn some basics as well—with our kits. They are kid-friendly, too.”
As part of its online store, Skull & Cakebones also offers its signature desserts for local delivery, as well as items such as cookie dough, toaster pastries, stuffed cheeseburger buns, and a vegan shrimp and jackfruit barbacoa meal for four (made in partnership with local eatery Torchy’s Tacos). The bakery also plans to add pizza kits, snack packs, and more ready-to-heat meal options to its offerings.
