Food company GreenSpace Brands—known in part for owning Rolling Meadow Dairy, Canada’s largest “grass-fed” dairy brand—unveiled new vegan line Riot Eats last week at trade show Natural Products Expo East in Baltimore, MD. The new line features organic certified vegan cheeses in mozzarella and cheddar flavors available in slices and shreds, in addition to butter alternatives and plant-based spreads. “The launch of Riot Eats builds upon our mission to bring better to more [people],” GreenSpace Brands CEO Matthew von Teichman said. “The goal of Riot Eats is to flip the script on plant-based eating being a sacrifice, to being an exciting personal gain.” In January, GreenSpace Brands completed its $17.8 million acquisition of Galaxy Nutritional Foods, Inc., the parent company of plant-based cheese brand Go Veggie—the first step in its mission to capitalize on the growing vegan cheese industry. GreenSpace Brands plans to add new plant-based products to its Riot Eats line, which will begin distribution of its vegan cheeses to retailers in early 2019.
