Deli meats made by Zemco Industies and sold at Walmart stores nationwide were recalled August 23. The US Department of Agriculture has announced that roughly 380,000 pounds of meat is potentially contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, bacteria that can cause listeriosis. The disease is potentially fatal in people with compromised immune systems. The recall is for deli meats in pre-packaged sandwiches marketed as Marketside Grab and Go Sandwiches. The recalled products have use-by dates from August 20 to September 10.
