Vegan burger shop Meta Burger opened last week in Denver, CO. Owners Michael Reeves and Matthew Coates founded Meta Burger with the mission to create an affordable plant-based restaurant to attract omnivore diners looking for alternatives to meat. “We developed a menu that everyone is familiar with so that it is inclusive to everyone,” Reeves told VegNews. Notable menu items include the Mac Attack Burger featuring Hungry Planet soy ground beef, housemade bacon bits, green onions, and a mac and cheese made with an eggplant-based cheese; Chili Cheese Fries made with waffle fries topped with homemade chili and nacho cheese; and Meta Blasts, a Dairy Queen-inspired milkshake made with soy-based Temptation soft-serve ice cream blended with customizable toppings in flavors such as Chocolate Turtle, Salted Caramel Pretzel, and Cookies ‘n Creme. The restaurant has consistently sold more than 200 burgers a day since opening day, and Reeves plans to open two additional locations in Colorado as well as outposts in other states. “We want to establish ourselves in places where there aren’t many choices for healthy, affordable, fast-casual food options,” Reeves said.
