This month, popular television show The Dr. Oz Show will be airing a series of episodes dedicated to wellness, entitled January Jumpstarts. The series will include investigations focused on various topics such as the safety of e-cigarettes, the benefits of probiotics, and an in-depth look at Beyond Meat’s Beyond Burger. The segment will explore why the meatless burger “bleeds” and evaluate its similarities to beef. Beyond Burger launched last year in the meat department of a Boulder, CO Whole Foods Market—where it sold out in less than one hour—and has since expanded to other regions nationwide. The Dr. Oz Show is in its eighth season and is produced by Oprah Winfrey—who urged her 33 million Twitter followers to go meat-free last year.
