First Vegan Oktoberfest Launches in London

London’s first vegan Oktoberfest, “Vegtoberfest,” will take place on October 6 at the Camden Stables Market. The main room will be transformed into a vegan beer hall pouring animal-free Bavarian beer (in addition to local craft beer), wine, mulled wine, and cold and hot cocktails. Food will include vegan bratwurst served with traditional toppings, Bavarian pizza prepared in the venue’s wood-fired oven, pretzels, and other street food served by to-be-announced vendors. Entertainment will consist of live music, comedy, and performances by The Bavarian Oompah Band—a band that is known for its covers of songs such as Britney Spears’ “Baby One More Time” in traditional “oompah” style. This summer, a number of vegan events are taking place in London, including V For, a month-long festival that will take place throughout August.
