First Vegan Taco Competition Hits NYC

The first-ever vegan taco contest takes place tonight at VSpot Organic NYC. Sponsored by US Veg Corp, the event features eight vegan mini-tacos crafted by Notable New York chefs such as Jungle Café’s Agata Dean, who plans to enter The Jungle Taco—velvety mashed potatoes, roasted crimini mushrooms, avocado, purple cabbage, alfalfa sprouts, Daiya cheddar cheese, and tofu-based sour cream served in a corn taco shell. Vegan celebrity judges include Chris Cooney, author of The Vegan Zombie, traveling YouTube vlogger Dustin Harder (aka The Vegan Roadie), and multi-sport athlete Dominick Thompson. Guests can enjoy drink specials such as organic sangria, margaritas, and micheladas while voting for their favorite taco as part of the People’s Choice Award for Best Vegan Taco in NYC.
