People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) plans to launch a trio of hospital-scented candles in time for Father’s Day. Food brand A.1. Sauce, purveyor of the popular steak sauce by the same name, debuted its three meat-scented novelty candles in Original Meat, Backyard BBQ, and Classic Burger for the holiday. As a response, PETA will release candles in three scents: Heart Disease, Cancer, and Stroke. “A love of burgers and barbecued flesh can go hand in hand with a heart attack and an early death,” PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said. “PETA’s cheeky scented candles will encourage dads to keep themselves out of the hospital by choosing healthy vegan meals.” PETA noted as the A.1. Sauce is vegan, dads everywhere should enjoy it on vegan options of their favorite dishes such as seitan steak and Gardein’s beefless strips.
