Impossible Burger Debuts at NYC Restaurant
Momufuku Nishi adds the plant-based burger to its menu after chef “tasted the future, and it was vegan.”

World-renowned chef and restaurateur David Chang has added plant-based Impossible Burger to the menu of his Italian-Asian fusion eatery Momofuku Nishi in New York City. Chang sampled the innovative burger in May, after which he exclaimed, “I tasted the future, and it was vegan.” Today, Chang added the Impossible Burger—which is served “Nishi style” without cheese and with fries—to the menu at Nishi for a limited time only during brunch, lunch, happy hour, and dinner service. Chang is known as a risk-taker in the culinary world and says that the addition of the biotech company’s vegan burger is a revolutionary move. “I can’t really comprehend its impact quite yet … but I think it might change the whole game,” Chang. The Impossible Burger is the premier product from Silicon Valley startup Impossible Foods that mimics the taste and texture of beef but is made entirely from plants. The anticipated burger will also soon be available at high-end restaurant Jardinière in San Francisco.
