Italian Brand Throws Exclusive Vegan Pizza Party in NYC

Italy-based vegan cheese brand Wellny recently debuted its vegan, nut-free, and soy-free mozzarella at the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York City. With a goal of creating a healthy version of a gourmet cheese product, the company developed a line of vegetable-based cheeses, including mozzarella that is made in its traditional white color and spherical shape and designed to melt with heat. At an exclusive event after the food show—attended by Italian and international authorities, journalists, and influencers—the cheese was sampled on gourmet pizza prepared by Denis Lovatel of Italian eatery Pizzeria Da Ezio in collaboration with New York-based restaurant Tutto il Giorno Chef Agostino Petrosino. Along with the debut of Wellny’s new cheese, the food show showcased upcoming plant-based products, including snacks, meat alternatives, condiments, and pastas. This year, a number of artisanal vegan cheese brands debuted their flagship lines, including Happy Heart Vegan Gourmet, RIND, and Beetroot.
