Jessica Chastain Buys Mom Vegan Food Truck

As a birthday present for her mother, Hollywood actress (and long-time vegan) Jessica Chastain gifted her a vegan food truck. Her mom, Jerry Hastey, is a vegan chef and former restaurateur living in Sonoma County, CA—where the food truck will be based. Launching this month, Seed On The Go will feature everything from tofu scrambles, Belgian waffles, and pancakes to tacos, mac ‘n’ cheese, and veggie burgers (plus desserts like strawberry shortcake and a chocolate-peanut butter torte). Hastey first went vegan after visiting her daughter in Los Angeles and enjoying the food she was eating. Chastain told SFGate.com that her mom “felt so good” that she went home and said, “‘Y’know what, I’m gonna open a restaurant.’”
