Fast-food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) has announced that it’s working on vegetarian options to test in the UK later this year, according to the Mirror. Head of Food Innovation for KFC UK and Ireland Victoria Robertson said, “We know people are more passionate than ever about eating well, and we face a big challenge in shifting their perceptions of what we offer.” KFC faced chicken shortages earlier this year, failing to deliver to at least 900 of its stores and resulting in temporary closures of half of its UK locations. Ironically, as part of an annual April Fool’s Day campaign, VegNews reported last month that KFC was planning on launching a vegan chicken bucket.
