Later this month, meat snack brand KRAVE will debut its first line of plant-based jerky. The new line—which the brand says mimics the flavor and texture of its Gourmet Meat Cuts products—is made from a base of peas and fava beans and will be available in two flavors: Smoked Chipotle and Korean BBQ. “With the growing number of snacking occasions and evolving nutritional expectations placed on those snacks consumers are dramatically altering the way we think about innovation,” KRAVE Brand Manager Jimmy McClain said. “Nowhere are these changes more evident than the demand for plant-based products and the adoption of specialized diets like paleo and keto.” KRAVE’s vegan jerky ($5.99) will be available for purchase through the company website, on Amazon, and at select retailers nationwide.
