Meat to Mexico Halted

US bans meat exportation to Mexico.

Mexico’s famous chili con carne dishes will soon be served sin carne. The US Department of Agriculture is refusing to allow approximately 30 US slaughterhouses, including the country’s largest meat producer, Tyson Foods, to export meat south of the border. Halting the meat supply to Mexico will likely reduce demand for cattle, poultry, and pigs (hurray!). Authorities pulled the certifications after the slaughterhouses failed to meet sanitary and quality standard requirements three consecutive times.
