History has been made in Mexico with a ban on bullfighting in the state of Sonora. Part of the region’s Animal Protection Law—which protects domestic animals as well—the legislation is an initiative of the nation’s Green Party, which hopes to ban bullfighting throughout the entire country. Polls in Mexico show that 70 percent of the population are against bullfighting, and joins areas in France, Spain, Portugal, Argentina, Germany, the UK, and others to outlaw the horrific practice.
