Food service company Aramark debuted last week its new menu offerings for the 2018 Major League Baseball (MLB) season. The company added several new vegan and vegetarian options to stadiums across the country as part of its Healthy for Life 20 by 20 initiative. PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, will now offer two new dishes: Greens and Grains (a meal that features kale, spinach, roasted corn, carrots, quinoa, brown rice, cranberries, and sunflower seeds tossed in a Sriracha-carrot dressing) and the Un-Tuna Salad (made with chickpeas, celery, and sweet pickle relish). Guests at Citizen Bank Park in nearby Philadelphia can order the Vegan Cauliflower Cheesesteak—a sandwich made with roasted cauliflower, poblano peppers, onions, and vegan cheese sauce served on a vegan roll. The Impossible Burger is now available at Citi Field in New York City, while Rogers Centre in Ontario now offers the Vegan’ Acho Nachos (made with red and white tortilla chips topped with vegan cheese, black beans, guacamole, and pico de gallo). All of these new dishes are contenders for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) annual list of the most veg-friendly ballparks, an accolade awarded last year to Texas-based Globe Life Park for its all-vegan food cart.
