Famed vegan musician Moby will be spinning a DJ set at The Mezzanine in San Francisco on December 11 with all proceeds to benefit the Oakland Fire Fund set up by the Gray Area Foundation of the Arts. The devastating fire that started last Friday during a music event at an East Oakland structure called Ghost Ship claimed a total of 36 lives. “I wanted to do this event in San Francisco to offer my support to a community that’s clearly grieving,” Moby told VegNews. The fire benefit will include a silent auction of signed records, memorabilia, and services to raise additional funds. The musician recently played a live show during the Circle V festival in Los Angeles, the proceeds of which were donated to animal-rights organization Mercy for Animals.
