Manda Fine Meats recently announced the recall of up to 468,000 pounds of ham, turkey breast, pastrami, and corned beef among other products, according to the US Department of Agriculture. Manda officials originally recalled about 20,000 pounds of roast beef deli meat for fear of it being contaminated with bacteria that causes listeriosis, a potentially fatal disease, but other product samples recently tested positive for the bacteria, too. Meat suspected of contamination was processed in late February up to the second week of April, and was shipped to more than 10 states including Texas, Alabama, Kentucky, and Florida. Packages with a “sell by” date between May 13 and July 2 have been recalled, reports The Advocate.
