Staring July 6 and every first Friday of the month thereafter, San Diego will be home to a new monthly vegan night market. The event is a collaboration between community group Vegan in San Diego and local plant-based deli and restaurant Anthem Vegan—which will host the intimate market in its North Park location. The market will take place between 6pm and 10pm and treat guests to five food vendors, two dessert vendors, two vendors selling goods, and one selling and sampling kombucha, along with a beer garden and music. Anthem owner Patrick Murray opened the 4,000 square-foot space that serves vegan cheeses, tacos, quesadillas, salads, house-made jackfruit-based dishes, a full children’s menu, and cold-pressed juices in an effort to educate his community about the benefits of plant-based living.
