Chase Hospitality Group first expanded its vegan offerings, and now it’s going full-throttle.

The first 100-percent plant-based eatery from Canadian restaurant conglomerate Chase Hospitality Group (CHG) opens its doors tonight in the Yorkville neighborhood of Toronto. Earlier this year, CHG announced that it would restructure the meat-centric menus at its current properties to include at least 25-percent-more vegan options. On the heels of that major shift—and taking it one step further—the totally vegan menu at Planta focuses on the pureness of individual vegetable ingredients and includes eclectic dishes such as carrot-based hot dogs, coconut ceviche, and cinnamon buns. Planta’s beverage selection includes biodynamic and organic wines as well as fresh-pressed juice cocktails. The eatery seats 165 patrons and is open for all meals—breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch—and also offers take-out. CNN recently named Toronto one of the hottest cities for vegan food, and its offerings continue to expand, with recent additions such as fast-food eatery Doomie’s Home Cooking, food truck The Vegan Extremist, and dessert truck Sweet Teeth.
