An all-vegan community center recently opened in Tonawanda, NY. The Vegan Center was created by Marcy Zastrow, who saw a need for a space that supports vegan businesses, activists, and those who are transitioning to the vegan lifestyle. The space includes a resource area, consignment shop featuring vegan items, a 950-square-foot meeting room, two smaller conference rooms, office space, and an all-vegan commercial kitchen that features new equipment, a refrigerator and freezer, and storage and packaging areas. The rooms and kitchen are available to rent out for parties, speaking events, workshops, fitness classes, and fundraisers, and the office space is available for vegan businesses. Zastrow also has her own office in the center, where she offers coaching sessions as a certified vegan lifestyle coach and educator.

“I just listened to what people wished we had in the Buffalo area, and I thought ‘I can do this!’” Zastrow told media outlet WIVB. “I want to work collaboratively with a lot of vegan businesses and help them grow.”

Membership to The Vegan Center is available for $25 annually. Member benefits include discounted ticket prices to events, a monthly newsletter, borrowing privileges to the resource center, and quarterly free gifts.
