On February 11, NHL team the Dallas Stars will host a “Vegan Night” at American Airlines Center, its home arena, during a game against the Carolina Hurricanes. Tickets start at $25 and come with a meal voucher that is good for one of three options prepared by the stadium’s Valor Bar & Burger stand: a Vegan Brat made with Beyond Sausage, Beyond Burger, or Unreal Deli Reuben—made with Unreal Corned Beef by California-based vegan company Mrs.Goldfarb’s Unreal Deli. Matt Bowman, the Dallas Stars Executive Vice President, was inspired to host the event by employee Samantha Parrish. “All the credit for the ‘Dallas Stars Vegan Night’ goes to Samantha Parrish, a member of our team who was inspired by her vegan roommate,” Bowman said. “Sam connected with Dallas Vegan and was thrilled that they were as excited as we were to have an event together.” American Airlines Center is also home to the NBA team Dallas Mavericks, a team owned by Shark Tank investor Mark Cuban. On a November episode of the show, Cuban—after revealing that he recently became vegetarian—invested $250,000 in Mrs. Goldfarb’s Unreal Deli in exchange for 20 percent of the business.
