NYC Chef Develops Avocado Pizza for Vegans

Kola House’s vegan pizza is like avocado toast to the nth degree served in a space designed by musician Lenny Kravitz.

New York City-based restaurant Kola House recently introduced a vegan avocado pizza that combines the public’s love affair with avocado toast and a growing customer demand for vegan options. The pizza crust is made from a dough that crosses Persian pita bread with a French baguette and is topped with red onion, cilantro salsa, sunflower seeds, radish, and a serving of sliced avocado—which acts as a creamy replacement for cheese. “It’s a good dish because right now we have so many requests for people being vegan or gluten-free, or just wanting to eat healthier,” Kola House’s Chef Jon Feshan told Time. Feshan makes only 12 avocado pizzas per night at Kola House—a restaurant that was designed by musician Lenny Kravitz, who is rumored to be fond of the vegan diet himself.
