NYT Pens Exposé on Animal Abuse and Ag-Gag Bills

The New York Times recently published an exposé on the current debate surrounding ag-gag bills that will make undercover factory farm investigations illegal. The news source detailed some of the abuses that undercover footage brought to the public eye, such as burning horses with caustic chemicals, workers throwing piglets in the air, and an egg farm that had dead chickens in cages next to live ones. The Times notes that even though the investigations have led to arrests and a loss of customers, some government officials are looking to eliminate them. While the article was fairly impartial and let both sides voice their opinions, many mainstream news sources throughout the country have stated their staunch opposition to ag-gag legislation.
