Orlando Bloom is now eating a mostly plant-based diet, the actor revealed in an interview over the weekend with United Kingdom-based media outlet Sunday Times. The 44-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star divulged his daily routine, which involves waking up at 6:30am, practicing Buddhism, and caring for his six-month-old baby Daisy Dove—his first child with fiancé Katy Perry. The British actor revealed that his typical breakfast consists of porridge mixed with hazelnut milk, cinnamon, vanilla paste, and protein powder that he tops with hazelnuts and goji berries, which he consumes with a cup of PG Tips (a popular British tea brand). “I’m 90-percent plant-based, so I’ll only eat a really good piece of red meat maybe once a month,” Bloom said. “I sometimes look at a cow and think, ‘That’s the most beautiful thing ever.’”

Bloom said that he “earns his breakfast” by chanting for 20 minutes before consuming a mixture of “green powders and brain octane oil, a collagen powder for my hair and nails, and some protein,” to fuel his morning hike—which he supplants with music by 90s rock bands Nirvana and Stone Temple Pilots.

Is Katy Perry vegan?

While Bloom is now starting to head down the plant-based path, Perry began her transition to veganism last year. Prior to giving birth to Daisy Dove, Perry—an investor in plant-based brand Impossible Foods—satisfied her pregnancy cravings with plant-based burgers because she found animal meat repulsive. In January, the musician and American Idol host took to Twitter to tell her 109 million followers that she was ditching animal products. “I’m about 95 percent ready to be 100-percent vegan,” Perry tweeted. “My dog Nugget has been joining me on this journey for the past four months.” Known for her creative fashion sense, Perry has also dressed up as a vegan burger twice, once during the 2019 Met Gala and again for Taylor Swift’s music video for “You Need to Calm Down.”
