Heather Mills, who became vegan after losing her leg to an accident with a police motorcycle in 1993, is on a mission to eliminate world hunger. “If we all went vegan … there would be no such thing as starvation in the world,” Mills said recently. To help accomplish her goal, the 47-year-old owner of VBites restaurant plans to open 25 more vegan concessions across the United Kingdom, and hopes to debunk the “hippy” stereotype around veganism by featuring “hip and trendy” items on her menus such as vegan duck, paté, and cheeses. To promote the opening of her latest ventures, Mills took to the streets and fed the public her meat-free fare.
