PCRM Honors Ellen

Last week, Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) President Dr. Neal Barnard presented comedian Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi with the organization’s Voice of Compassion award. Barnard presented the award to DeGeneres after a taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and her studio audience applauded for the celebrity activist as Barnard commended her compassionate lifestyle. DeGeneres praised PCRM for all of its hosted work and called her respect for the planet and love for animals “what everybody should do.” On April 10, PCRM hosted its 25th Anniversary Gala in West Hollywood, Calif., but DeGeneres was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.
