Peas Get Political, Take Over Internet

Jeb Bush: “You don’t put peas in guacamole.”

In a shocking move that has caused mass furor on the internet, otherwise respected newspaper The New York Times posted a surprising recipe Wednesday for green pea guacamole. This bold action prompted instant backlash, most notably from President Obama who tweeted, “respect the NYT, but not buying peas in guac.” In what is sure to be the only time the two men agree on anything, presidential candidate Jeb Bush chimed in with his own opposition to the absurd recipe by tweeting, “You don’t put peas in guacamole.” Across social media and throughout prominent publications to tabloids, the message is clear: do not mess with people’s guacamole. Since avocados help fight leukemia, we’ll take ours whatever way we can get it, with tofu, soyrizo, and (avert your eyes) even peas.
