This summer, international chain Pizza Hut will add vegan cheese to its menu at all 7,598 United States locations. “We have been testing the marketing when it comes to vegan cheese for quite some time, and we’re just about ready to make the leap,” a spokesperson from Pizza Hut told The Vegan Herald. “We plan to have vegan cheese available at all of our US locations by the end of summer, most likely in August.” In 2017, Pizza Hut added vegan cheese made by Greek brand Violife to its 262 United Kingdom locations, sparking requests from US customers to add it to its menu stateside. While Pizza Hut has yet to confirm which brand of vegan cheese it will offer, VegNews has learned that Violife has been in negotiations with the chain for more than a year. Currently, Pizza Hut offers two vegan crust options (Thin ‘N Crispy and Hand-Tossed), two vegan sauces (Classic Marinara and Sweet Sauce), and a variety of vegetable toppings.
