Rapper Waka Flocka Flame (born Juaquin James Malphurs) recently tweeted, “What if I say … vegan cooking show coming soon?” The Atlanta-born rapper made headlines this month when he appeared with 19-year-old singer/songwriter Raury in a Vice video in which the duo prepared vegan blueberry muffins. Malphurs’ fans were quick to respond with enthusiastic support of the rapper’s recent transition to veganism. “You are the smartest businessman/rap artist in the world!” one fan exclaimed while another said that the proposed cooking show would “be the only reason to watch television.” Mulphers explained that his transition to veganism was inspired by health and revealed, “I didn’t want to be fat, I got tired of breathing hard, I got tired of my joints hurting.” The BET award-winning rapper has a huge social media presence and regularly tweets about veganism to his 1.6 million Twitter followers.
