Nearly 120 students attended this year’s Ivy League Vegan Conference, which has grown four-fold since its inception last year. The conference was an attempt to create academic and social discourse around a plant-based diet through educating people on themes like health and philosophy. Wayne Pacelle, CEO of The Humane Society of the United States, Yale philosophy professor Shelly Kagan, and Milton Mills of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine were all speakers at the conference, reports the Yale Daily News. The event’s 2014 co-directors Victor Galli and Jade Jones, are already planning the conference for next year.
