Shake Shack to Show Off New Burger at Eat Drink Vegan

New York-based fast-casual chain Shake Shack will sell its new vegan-friendly burger at this month’s Eat Drink Vegan festival in Pasadena, CA. Called the Veggie Shack, the burger is Shake Shack’s only meatless menu item and features a bean-, rice-, and beet-based vegan patty topped with lettuce, onions, pickles, vegan mustard-mayo, and served on a potato roll—which will be prepared vegan at the festival but is typically topped with provolone cheese in-store. Shake Shack will be among the 100 food vendors at Eat Drink Vegan, which partnered this year with the organizers of Miami’s SEED Food & Wine Festival to create a larger, week-long festival throughout Pasadena and Los Angeles.
