England-based Royal Shakespeare Theater Company (RSC) added a new, three-course, plant-based fixed price menu to its rooftop restaurant in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Diners can now order items such as warm marinated vine tomatoes, roasted baby beets, Turkish eggplant and chickpea stew with freekeh pilaf, fusilli with butternut squash, and poached pears. “As with our shows,” RSC executive chef Simon Malin told media outlet Birmingham Mail, “we are always looking to make our food offer as accessible to as many people as possible, which is why I am excited to introduce our brand-new vegan offering to open up more of the RSC to people looking to have a great shared culinary experience.” Guests can also partake in a fully vegan traditional afternoon tea complete with plant-based sandwiches, scones topped with soy-based cream, and chocolate cake.
