Snoop Dogg has teamed up with canine food brand Dog for Dog to fight euthanasia in shelters. The rapper, a self-proclaimed dog lover with 11 pooches of his own, notes that many dogs are euthanized because shelters lack resources to feed their residents. Snoop’s investment in Dog for Dog has helped to allow the company to donate one bag of food to a shelter for every bag that it sells to a customer. Dog for Dog also saves money by not advertising, relying solely on word-of-mouth for promotion. “A company like Iams spends $1.5 billion a year on marketing,” says Dog for Dog founder Ryan Kavanaugh. “We don’t market. Instead, we put that money towards the bags going to the pounds. The goal is ending euthanasia in pounds.”
