Fast-casual taqueria chain Dos Toros recently added plant-based Impossible Meat to the menu of all 21 locations in New York City and Chicago. The new plant-based, Mexican-style ground beef—which is marinated in spices such as paprika and black pepper before being sautéed—can be ordered instead of animal-derived beef in dishes such as burritos, nachos, and tacos. “Dos Toros is thrilled to bring Impossible to our menus in New York City and Chicago. After taste testing numerous plant based proteins, we were blown away by the flavor and texture of Impossible,” Dos Toros co-founder Leo Kremer told VegNews. “This new meatless option reduces our carbon footprint, which is one of the main reasons we considered adding a plant-based option, as sustainability is one of our priorities.” In February, fast-casual chain QDOBA also partnered with Impossible Foods to offer a seasoned plant-based beef option at select locations in Michigan before expanding the option to its 730 locations nationwide in May.
