Shoe brand TOMS recently developed an all-vegan climbing shoe. TOMS partnered with rock-climbing shoe brand So iLL to create the highly functioning shoes, which feature lightweight materials, a padded tongue, a downturned toe, and a sole made from “Black Matter Rubber”—a sticky, vegan material originally developed for the Navy Seals to ensure secure foot placement. TOMS and So iLL created the innovative shoes to support youth outreach organization 1Climb in its efforts to provide access to rock-climbing for 100,000 children by building climbing walls at Boys & Girls Club of America locations nationwide. The shoes are available in two colors (Dynasty Green and Grey Violet) in men’s and women’s sizes, and can be purchased through 1Climb’s Indiegogo campaign with an estimated delivery date of May 2019.
