After successfully launching Applewood Vegan in 2018, dairy brand Norseland is introducing Mexicana Vegan, a plant-based version of its popular cheese flavor that is infused with bell peppers and jalapeños.

On July 20, dairy brand Norseland Ltd. will launch its newest vegan cheese, Mexicana Vegan, at approximately 300 Asda supermarkets across the United Kingdom. The new cheese is fortified with B12 and calcium and flavored with bell peppers and jalapeños—much like the original dairy-based Mexicana cheese that Norseland offers but without any animal products. “Our taste panel of spicy cheese enthusiasts are already hooked on it, because it’s super-stringy when it melts and has all of the flavor of Mexicana, including a nice spicy kick,” Lisa Harrison, Senior Brand Manager for Mexicana, said.

In 2018, Norseland launched Applewood Vegan, a plant-based version of its Applewood dairy cheese, to much fanfare across the UK. “Vegan cheese continues to grow in popularity with our customers so we are thrilled to be able to expand our range and add this new line to our Free From offering,” Laura Sparkes, Asda’s Free From Cheese Buyer, said. “We love the spicy flavor and know our customers will agree. It is hard to believe this is a dairy alternative.”
