United Kingdom-based doughnut chain Crosstown opened this week its first all-vegan outpost in London. The new shop features a variety of doughnuts made with ingredients such as coconut butter, oat milk, and tofu in place of animal products. “We’ve spent months experimenting with different processes, techniques, and ingredients to adapt our doughnuts to be vegan-friendly without compromising on taste, texture, or quality,” the shop stated. “We know that any vegan alternative is always going to invite comparison, and we’re confident that our new vegan doughnuts live up to that comparison—they are the real thing, just made with different ingredients.” The vegan Crosstown offers rotating flavors such as Coconut & Lime, Apple Pie, and Forest Fruits—some of which are also available at their non-vegan locations. The shop also features vegan drinks such as hot chocolate, chai, and coffee and provides only non-dairy milk and creamers.
