International chain Pizza Hut will begin serving vegan cheese tomorrow at all 262 of its United Kingdom locations. The chain first tested vegan cheese—made by Greek brand Violife—at only eight UK locations earlier this fall. “After an amazing customer response to our vegan cheese trial earlier this year,” Gareth Hopley, head of communications at Pizza Hut, said, “we’re pleased to announce that the dairy-free alternative will now be served in all of our restaurants nationwide and feature as a permanent fixture on our menus.” The vegan cheese option will be available for all pizzas for an extra £1 ($1.33) and free for vegan pizzas ordered from the children’s menu. Similarly, competing chain Domino’s announced earlier this month that vegan cheese will be available at its Australian locations in 2018, while in the United States, smaller chains—including WisePies Pizza & Salad—have committed to offering vegan cheese, but Pizza Hut and Domino’s have not yet announced plans to do the same.
