Gousto, the United Kingdom’s largest meal-kit service, recently launched its first vegan burger. The new Ultimate Vegan Christmas Burger comes with sprout slaw, melty vegan cheese, and a plant-based gravy for dipping. “We’re so excited to have created a truly amazing recipe that will allow us to further expand our plant-based recipe offering into the new year,” Gousto Food Director Rachel Chatterton said. “We extensively tested the burger patty against a range of competitors and we’re confident that it far surpasses similar products on the market, both in flavor and texture.” The company—which delivers more than 2.5 million meals across the country each month—has expanded its vegan and vegetarian menu options over the last two years after it found a fifth of its customers said that they are actively trying to reduce their meat consumption.
