Today, Billie Eilish announced on her Instagram Story that she will be performing at the virtual Democratic National Convention (DNC), scheduled for August 17 to 20, 2020. “It’s never been more important to vote,” the vegan singer wrote. “I’m performing at the DNC on Wednesday and I hope you’ll watch, then get to the polls in November.” She then went on to say, “I put up a vote section on my site if you need somewhere to start,” pointing her followers to a new section on her official website that lists numerous organizations—including Rock the Vote, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), and HeadCount— which can help fans register to vote. “This election is the most important election of our lifetimes so far,” a note on Eilish’s website states. “It’s never been more important to vote.”

Other artists set to perform at the virtual DNC include: the Chicks, Maggie Rogers, John Legend, Leon Bridges, Jennifer Hudson, and Common. Former Vice President Joe Biden is expected to officially accept the Democratic Party’s nomination for president at the virtual DNC next week alongside his Vice Presidential pick, California Senator Kamala Harris—the first Black and South Asian-American woman to be nominated for that position.
