Department store chain Neiman Marcus will open plant-based eatery Café on 3 today at its Beverly Hills location. The new café’s executive chef Alan Campos Arroyo will serve gourmet plant-based dishes such as Wild Mushroom Toast with cashew truffle aioli, aged truffle cheese salad with candied walnuts, and roasted broccolini with romesco. For dessert, the eatery will also feature gluten-free baked goods such as cakes and cookies provided by local vegan chef Yvonne Ardestani of Yvonne’s Vegan Kitchen. “It is awesome to see the plant-based movement making it into the mainstream, especially in places where you wouldn’t normally expect it,” Ardestani told VegNews. “It just goes to show that people are making more decisions based on their health, our environment, and are more conscientious about how the choices they make today deeply impact the world tomorrow.” The new café joins the ever-growing Los Angeles vegan scene, which includes the upcoming 100,000-Square-Foot Vegan Playground block party scheduled to open in the city in June.
