On February 15, West Philadelphia will welcome Dottie’s Donuts—a popular doughnut company that so far has been available only at local businesses—to its growing vegan scene. The shop will serve bagels, a variety of vegan cream cheese, and coffee along with 12 rotating doughnut flavors such as Milk Chocolate Raspberry, Salted Pistachio, Black Sesame Matcha, and local favorite Maple Bacon Buns—maple-drizzled seitan bacon on a cinnamon roll-style doughnut. Since the new shop will have a commercial kitchen, owners Jeff Poelen and Matt Quinn plan to expand the menu to include lunch items. Dottie’s Donuts will be the latest addition to the thriving vegan scene in Philadelphia, which includes fine-dining restaurant Vedge, Blackbird Pizzeria, allergen-free bakeshop Sweet Freedom, and bar Charlie Was a Sinner, amongst others.
