Vegan Hot Dog Cart Rolls Up Near Florida’s Tropicana Baseball Stadium

Nah Dogs founders couldn’t get the stadium to serve vegan hot dogs—one of two in the country that does not—so they created their own cart.

Vegan hot dog cart Nah Dogs will begin operations near the Tropicana Field baseball stadium in St. Petersburg, FL in March. Couple Jeff and Jenny Howe created the cart—which will serve chili, sausages, and soy-based hot dogs with toppings such as vegan cheese sauce, jalapeños, corn salsa, and tortilla chips—to fill a void for vegan options in the area. “I think this town is progressing more towards a vegan and vegetarian lifestyle, so it seemed like a good time to finally do it,” Jenny Howe told local media outlet Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. “You can’t find vegan hot dogs at Tropicana. I’ve written them several times about them being one of two baseball stadiums in the country that doesn’t offer that.” The couple will operate the cart on weekends and other hours outside of their full-time jobs, starting with late-night service in downtown St. Petersburg outside of local pubs and breweries.
