Acclaimed musician/vegan activist Richard Melville Hall (known professionally as “Moby”) opened today online shop The Official Moby Reverb Shop. The musician partnered with online marketplace Reverb.com to sell more than 100 pieces of his personal musical instruments and equipment, the proceeds of which he will donate to vegan medical group Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM). “This is the equipment I’ve used to make all my records,” Moby told Reverb.com. “I have so much equipment, and almost all of it has profound sentimental value to me, including synthesizers I started using in the ‘80s. But rather than keep it all in storage, I want to sell it for a good cause.” PCRM advocates for the use of plant-based food as a preventative measure to illness within the healthcare industry and engages in a variety of animal-rights initiatives, including taking legislative actions to prevent animal-testing within medical schools and pushing to reformulate school lunches to exclude animal products such as processed meat.
