Vegan Options Abound at New 49ers Stadium

This past Sunday, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA—the new home of the San Francisco 49ers—opened up to great fanfare. Despite a loss to the Denver Broncos, fans seeking out meat-free options couldn’t have been more overjoyed. From BBQ jackfruit sandwiches and vegetable curry to mushroom-filled Chinese buns and even dedicated vegan hot dog stands, the new sports stadium has been dubbed “the most vegan-friendly in the nation” by several media sources. According to catering CEO Des Hague, the intent was to “design a hospitality program to usher in a new fan experience, and to match the Bay Area’s diverse culture.” There are 32 vegan options at the sports field.
