A recent feature published by fashion media outlet Vogue highlighted the year’s top wedding trends. Among six trends—including smaller weddings, herb-infused cocktails, and tall, layered cakes—Vogue identified that vegan menus are growing in popularity among wedding planners and happy couples. “Without doubt, we are seeing more brides and grooms feature vegan options versus vegetarian,” wedding planner Colin Cowie said. “The vegan movement is well on the way, and most top restaurants today now offer a vegan menu.” Cowie further revealed that vegan dishes on wedding menus are no longer just relegated to sides. “’Vegan’ used to mean the grilled portobello mushroom,” Cowie said. “Today’s chefs are preparing exquisite and delicious vegan options.” This year, Australian cricket star Peter Siddle was on-trend with his vegan wedding that featured a towering vegan cake and a dessert bar.
